1.Our commitment

We aim to provide an inclusive experience for visitors of all abilities, including those who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, magnification, voice control or reduced-motion settings. Accessibility is treated as ongoing work rather than a one-time project, and this site is reviewed as it changes.

2.Standard we work toward

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our design and development target. This statement describes our goals and the measures we have taken; it is a good-faith statement of effort and is not a certification, audit result, or representation of conformance with any law or standard in any jurisdiction.

3.Measures in place on this site

  • Semantic HTML structure with a single main landmark and a logical heading order on each page.
  • A skip-to-content link and visible focus indicators on interactive elements.
  • Full keyboard operability, including the image viewer (arrow keys to move between images, Escape to close).
  • Descriptive alternative text on photographs, and empty alt text on purely decorative imagery.
  • Accessible names on icon-only buttons and links.
  • Colour contrast chosen to meet AA thresholds for body text and interface controls.
  • Form fields with associated labels, clear error messages, and status changes announced to assistive technology.
  • Animation, parallax and background motion reduced automatically when your device requests reduced motion.
  • Responsive layouts that support zoom, reflow and touch targets sized for comfortable use on mobile.

4.Known limitations

Some areas may not yet meet our target, and we are working on them:

  • Photography is inherently visual; alternative text describes subject and setting but cannot fully convey a photograph.
  • Large gallery pages may be slower on older devices or limited connections.
  • Third-party tools used for payments, scheduling, email or gallery delivery are outside our control, and their accessibility is governed by their own standards and statements.

5.Accommodations for sessions and communication

Tell us what you need and we will do our best to accommodate it. That can include wheelchair-accessible or low-mobility-friendly locations, shorter or split sessions, quiet or low-sensory environments, extra breaks, support persons or service animals on set, plain-language communication, large-print or spoken alternatives to written information, and receiving details by phone or text rather than email.

6.Feedback and reporting a barrier

If you encounter a barrier, please contact us at mallory@mcmanusphotography.com or 604-819-6400. Where possible, include the page address, what you were trying to do, what happened, and the device, browser and assistive technology you were using.

We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback within five business days and to describe our plan and timeline for addressing it. If a fix will take time, we will offer an alternative way to get the information or complete the task in the meantime. Feedback may be given anonymously; we can only follow up if you leave contact details.

7.Updates to this statement

This statement is reviewed when the site changes materially and is updated to reflect the measures then in place. The effective date above shows the most recent revision.
